Chapter Meeting: Program: “Ducks of North America” by John Taylor

Ducks are part of a diverse group of waterfowl which also includes swans and geese. Ducks are widespread across America and account for 62 species. All these birds are associated with aquatic habitats. They all have a seasonal molt where they “blow” all their worn out feathers and may become flightless. The process of growing new feathers takes a few weeks, when the birds are again ready to take wing. This program will cover a variety of ducks of North America.

Come join us for refreshments and “bird talk” at 6:00pm. The program will immediately follow a brief chapter meeting. Great door prizes are to be won! Past door prizes have included, books, bird feeders and bird seed.
