Chapter Meeting–Program “Creating a Backyard Habitat” by Laura Fleming

March 12 @ 6:00 pm8:00 pm

Laura Fleming, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited in Oregon and “Wild Life Specialist,” will discuss the necessary four elements for a well-rounded backyard habitat.

From playing in the creek behind her house as a child in Cincinnati, Ohio to obtaining a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and Management from Michigan State University, Laura has always been interested in and connected to the natural world and its wildlife. She has developed habitat for wild birds in her yard with landscaping, feeders, houses, baths and ponds which draw a great number and variety of birds. She considers herself a life-long student of birding, finding there is always more to learn and discover. Her main focus is on conservation of the environment and the promotion of healthy habitats for birds and other wildlife.
